Pascal B. Garde
Before establishing Global Water Jobs, Pascal worked as a WASH consultant for various non-governmental organisations such as Water and Sanitation for Africa (WSA) and the Bill & Melissa Gates Foundation. In 2012, he filled the position of Manager of W Internacional, a consultancy firm specialising in the internationalisation processes that offers commercial advisory services for the development of Spanish companies in foreign markets. Previously, he worked at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), assisting to fulfil the mandate of the Independent Expert on the Human Rights obligations related to Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation, carrying out, among other duties, research assistance on water governance issues and compliance of institutional and legal arrangements with the relevant human rights obligation. Earlier, he was employed at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) within the Competition and Consumer Policies Branch, mainly involved in technical assistance and capacity building projects for developing countries.
Pascal holds an MSc in Integrated Water Management from the University of Queensland in Australia. His final project consisted of reviewing the water pollution control framework in the Upper Cauca River Basin. He also has a degree in Economics and Management, with a major in International Trade, as well as a Master's Degree in International Economics, with a specific focus on Governance of International Development Organizations.
